Why I Built This Website
Hi, and welcome to my
website on guitar lessons for beginners. I created it simply
because I became appalled by what is being sold to budding
guitarists under the guise of "expert" tuition.
Much of it is nothing of the sort.
I have spent a lot of money trying to find out what really
works and where real value in terms of lessons and music
teachers lies. The good stuff is not easy to find, particularly
if all you know about guitar playing is that you would like to
be able to do it. And that was certainly me less than 12 months
ago.
Yes, that's right, I'm a beginner just like you and what I
hope to do is help you avoid the expensive pitfalls in terms of
useless guitar lessons, poor music videos and outright scams
that are widely advertised on the internet.
Everything on this site is something I either do use or have
used to help me learn how to play the guitar and most of the
advice is made up of things I have learned from other players,
many of them much more accomplished than me. Feel free to
browse through it as often as you like.
Please take it from me that despite what you may have read,
or even been told by others, there are no real shortcuts to
learning how to play the guitar. I, and many others of my
acquaintance, have found that it takes persistence, constant
practice (a least 15 to 20 minutes a day) and some really good
teaching material.
I can't provide the first two, but I can offer some help in
regard to the last of these. Follow my recommendations and I
promise you that you will be playing recognisable songs on the
guitar much sooner than you might ever have thought
possible.
Finally, there are ads on the pages of this website, some of which are
labelled as being from Google, for example. These form part of the income
that helps me to maintain this site. They do not necessarily
form part of my recommendations and you should regard them as
you would any other kind of advertising. Certain links are also to websites of which I am an affiliate and purchases you make through these may also result in a commission for me. Michael
